I live and study in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Since I was a child I have enjoyed making things.  This included dress making, knitting, soft toy making and wood turning during my teenage years.  At University I studied Chemical Engineering and my first career was as a process engineer, followed by one as a management information analyst.

While working I kept up with practising art and crafts in evening classes and short courses; these included fine art classes, picture framing, woodworking, print making, metalsmithing and bookbinding.  Since 2012 I have volunteered with the RNIB, assisting at art groups for the visually impaired.

After leaving my last job a couple of years ago, I am now following my heart and am training as an artist.

I am currently studying an NC in Art & Design at Edinburgh College.  The course covers various aspects of art using a mix of digital art and traditional drawing skills.  I am enjoying the different areas of the course and investigating the different possibilities available.  I have been trying out digital art for the first time and, having got to grips with Photoshop and using a graphics tablet, am exploring the diverse possibilities of this art form.  I am in my element as I like learning and exploring new skills.
